Shutting it Down

We will not be doing the REAL- 24 Fundraiser. We are Shutting it down.

Sorry to disappoint those who were looking forward to this project. (I had my espresso and visene ready to go!)

It was brought to our attention that certain individuals have been exploiting our blog and pictures. There are individuals that are using our information to attack us for their own personal gain.

We are very disappointed and hurt by the actions of others and in order to protect our family, we need to pull this blog.

°We truly are thankful for all of you who have been praying for us.

°Thanks to those who gave sacrificially to our cause.

We will carry you in our hearts.

You have helped us in more ways than you can imagine. The REAL LIFE 24 will continue on as we move forward with our adventure.

This blog has been discontinued.

Watch Out for The Garbage Truck!

39 Hours and 54 Minutes Remaining . . .

(Please take a second to vote on our poll.)

A good friend of mine forwarded me an article titled, "Beware of Garbage Trucks!™ - The Law of the GarbageTruck™ " by David J. Pollay. It's a reminder that there are people in life that love to throw their baggage at you in different forms. Some will be absolutely negative and critical towards you as a person. Others will use very hurtful words that can make a grown man cry. Some are just full of anger and resentment towards life and will take it out on you at no fault of your own. People want to take all their volatile bags of garbage and throw it on you.

The question is, "what do you do with the garbage that was thrown at you?"

Here is an exerpt from ""Beware of Garbage Trucks!™ - The Law of the GarbageTruck™ ": "And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, “The Law of the Garbage Truck™.” He said: Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they look for a place to dump it. And if you let them, they’ll dump it on you.

So when someone wants to dump on you, don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Believe me. You’ll be happier."

So I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? "And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the street? It was then that I said, “I don’t want their garbage and I’m not going to spread it anymore.'”

We can't control the people around us. We may be blind-sided by their words or actions. However, we have the right to not spread the garbage and let it consume our minds and lives. Just pick yourselves up, brush off the trash and be positive.

Just because people around you are negative, doesn't mean you need to be too. A hard lesson to live by, but your life is worth it! =)
